Common Faults and Solutions for Feed Processing Machines

Overheated Motor

Overheating of the motor is one of the developed problems regarding the feed processing machine. This may be due to high motor load drawing high currents, inadequate cooling of the motor, or internal issues with the motor. Corrective measures of this issue includes determining if the load marked on the motor has been exceeded, clearing debris surrounding the motor region in order to increase the cooling airflow, and checking up on the motor insulation and its operating temperature from time to time.

Blocked Screen

Any feed processing machine that has a blocked screen incurs a loss in the quality offered as well as in the amount manufactured. There can be moisture in the materials that is at too high a level, large screen size, or the screen is not made tight enough. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to control moisture levels within the materials, attach a suitably sized screen in place of the larger one, or increase the tension in the screen.

Destroyed Bearings

In the making of the feed working parts of the feed processing machine, the pulverising and pounding of grains takes place, bearings are one of them. A damaged bearing will cause instability and even complete shutdown of a machine. Some of the reasons that lead to damage of these components includes lack of lubrication, contamination, or usage over long periods. The way to solve this is to ensure that the lubrication of the bearing supports is checked periodically, cleaning of the foreign materials is carried out, and the bearing is replaced when required.

Blade Wear

Slab wear can affect the cutting effect and the output of the feed processing machine. This damage could be due to attempting to cut extremely hard material or due to a weak blade material. The solution to this problem is to cut trim until an appropriate blade material is fitted and replace the worn blades with regular ones.  

Electrical Failure

Electrical failure could be responsible for the inoperating beep or incoherently starting of uncontrollingly running feed processing machine. These electrical failures are brought about by aged wires, bad contact or even burnt electrical components. The solution of this problem is to regularly test the providing wire, electrical components, check all the connections to ensure they are all tight and also replace burnt electrical components whenever necessary.
